We are pleased to share that the Global Malnutrition Composite Score—which is comprised of 4 individual measures on which many of our Learning Collaborative members have been reporting for many years—has been proposed for inclusion in the Hospital IQR Program via the FY 2023 Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) Proposed Rule (see p. 1142). You can read more in our Avalere Insight and expect to receive more information about what this means for Learning Collaborative members and other dietitians and hospitals across the US in the coming months.

Stakeholders can submit comments on this measure’s inclusion and any other IPPS proposed rule changes to CMS until June 17, 2022. (Note CMS is expected to release the final rule in August, which will contain the finalized measure set.) If you’re interested in submitting comments, please let us know and we’re happy to offer guidance. Thank you to our Learning Collaborative, Advisory Committee, and other partners and stakeholders for your ongoing support and participation that made this possible!
