We are pleased to share good news that the White House will hold its 2nd White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health this September (with the first being held back in 1969). Funded through the recent Consolidated Appropriations Act, this convening will aim to accelerate progress to end hunger, improve nutrition and physical activity, reduce diet-related disease, and close the disparities around these issues—and it will end by launching a national plan outlining how to achieve these goals. Many different stakeholder groups are involved in planning and the White House will solicit feedback during virtual listening sessions, which will be open to everyone, this summer. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is collecting comments from members to inform its input; we encourage Academy members to provide information about your priority topics and policy opportunities for this conference and everyone concerned about nutrition and health to look for other opportunities to contribute during the upcoming listening sessions.
